That is the description for Weapon of Choice, one of the new games included in the launch of the New XBox Experience.  Weapon of Choice is available on the Community Games portal through XBox Live! and is a very fun "old-school" platformer.

In the game you move your character around and shoot every nasty alien looking creature that comes across your path.  You have full control over the angle at which you shoot ala Geometry Wars style controls and can run, jump, etc.  As you play through the game you pick up weapon upgrades and unlock other characters you can play.  The graphics are top notch along with the art direction.  Although it won't be of everyone's liking, the style is unique.
