Monaco 360"is a classic 2d retro by design top down racer inspired by many retro racing games on the Commodore 64 and Arcade formats.

The Good

• Classic old-school arcade fun

Needs Improvement

• It's not 1980 any more

Monaco 360 is a remake or as close to a remake of old-school arcade racing as you are going to get currently on the XBox.  In Monaco 360 you drive a race car by controlling it left to right and in a limited fashion up and down the race track as it tears past you from the top of the screen.  There are many challenges such as a night time mode where you can only see other cars as they pass in front of your limited headlights.  For the most part its a frantic play against the clock to see how far and how fast you can go before crashing into the back of another car.

The game is a faithful reproduction of games of past and gets high marks for that.  You travel through fields, across masses of water, and through suburbs in your travels and although the graphics are seriously dated they are great nods to what used to be cutting edge.

At 200 points on the Marketplace Monaco 360 is a good buy and is available now.
